Information Systems & Technology Manager

SUMMARY:

The Information Systems & Technology Manager will plan, establish, and manage information systems projects and will serve as a liaison between the Operations and Finance teams by supporting their needs for performance and analytical data/reporting tools from the ERP system to manage all aspects of the business most effectively.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential functions/responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: 

  • Manages company systems (IT) to ensure adherence to budget and performance objectives helping to achieve company’s strategic goals.
  • Works with Operations and Finance Department team members to develop and produce tools and reports for successful management of business operations.
  • Sets and tracks project milestones; manages and accounts for unforeseen delays, then realigns schedules and expectations as needed.
  • Establishes and implements project communication plans, providing status updates to affected staff and stakeholders.
  • Collects, analyzes, and summarizes information and trends as needed to prepare performance reports and forecasting projections.
  • Maintains the organization’s information center in a way that facilitates productivity and efficiency.
  • Provides technical and customer service and support to internal users of the information center’s facilities, which may include maintaining hardware and software and providing training.
  • Identifies hardware, equipment, and software needs for the organization’s information center; recommends and facilitates upgrades and replacements.
  • Oversees and facilitates the installation and maintenance of new equipment, systems, hardware, and software in the information center.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends and developments in technology, alerting senior staff of the effect’s widespread equipment, network, and other revisions, changes, and discontinuations will have on the organization’s information center and related operations.
  • Coordinates and schedules large-scale equipment and network installations.
  • Ensures that projects and tasks are completed within specifications, on time, and within budget.
  • Train Information Systems staff.
  • Champion and direct continuous learning and improvement in all Systems/IT-related functions in accordance with APCCO philosophy.
  • Work with Human Resources in ensuring compliance with company policy.
  • Promote an internal partnership/team with other APCCO departments and divisions assisting in breaking down the invisible segregation barrier.
  • Create a positive team atmosphere by modeling and promoting teamwork, diversity, cooperation, communication, professionalism, and respectful mannerisms among all APCCO team members, and hold employees accountable to do the same.
  • Follow performance management guidelines to define performance and development objectives for assigned employees. Objectives should engage employees in supporting APCCO Strategic Plan.
  • Ensure that all personnel comply with APCCO practices and procedures and adhere to all regulatory standards.
  • Ensure all assigned team members understand systematic problem-solving methods.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position has supervisory responsibilities. 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This job operates in a professional office environment and is in an open room with constant activity and interaction with cross-functional divisions, departments, and sections. This role routinely uses standard office equipment, such as computers, phone, photocopies, filing cabinets, fax machines and other equipment as needed. This job will also at times be at customers locations, where the environment will be open, loud and have various pieces of equipment and in use, along with the exposure to a variety of sights and smells, including a variety of processing chemicals.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 

  • Thorough understanding of GAAP accounting, project management and estimating principles and planning.
  • Thorough understanding of how to produce and analyze Financial Statements: Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Statement of Cash Flows and Budgets
  • Advanced in T-SQL queries and SQL Server Management Studio. Including: Complex (multiple join) Select statements, creation of Views, Stored Procedures, Triggers and Jobs.
  • Thorough understanding of IT procedures and practices
  • Proficient with, or able to quickly become proficient with, a range of general and specialized applications, software, and hardware used in the organization and the industry.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Advanced in MS Excel, including: Pivot Tables/Charts, Vlookup, Index Match, ODBC Data Connections, and some experience with Macros/Visual Basic.
  • Ability to motivate groups of people to complete a project in a timely manner.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:

This is a full-time position. Days and hours are Monday through Friday _8_am to _5_ pm, however, based on the needs of the job, work hours may vary.

TRAVEL:

Travel is expected for this position, based on the duties to service the needs of the APCCO team. 

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Computer Science, or some related field of study
  • 3 years of experience using:
  • MS Office-specifically Excel
  • AQL Server Management Studio (T-SQL)
  • Crystal Reports
  • QuickBooks
  • Spreadsheet Server
  • 3 years of experience managing relationship with third-party IT vendor.
  • All APCCO employees who drive company owned vehicles or drive their own vehicle for company purposes:
  • Must read, understand, and follow the requirements of the APCCO Motor Vehicle Policy and Vehicle Maintenance Policy
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Provide a clear DMV record that is insurable with our company vehicle insurance carrier, including no accidents, incidents, or DUI in the past 5 years (and updated annually)
  • Participate in company-sponsored programs to maintain or improve driver safety.

PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer or Information Science, and/or master’s degree
  • 5+ years of experience using:
  • MS Office-specifically Excel
  • AQL Server Management Studio (T-SQL)
  • Crystal Reports
  • QuickBooks
  • Spreadsheet Server
  • 3+ years of experience managing company relationship with third-party IT vendor.
  • 3+ years of experience working in a finance office setting.
