Who should attend:

Course designed for:

Certified Industrial Refrigeration Operator (CIRO) / Operator Level II is designed to assess more advanced concepts, principles, and applications required to supervise industrial refrigeration operators.  A minimum of two years’ machine room experience is required.

Course description:

Consist of a 4-day classroom training course designed for Refrigeration Operators / Personnel covering topics related to the RETA CIRO Exam Review and subject material.  This advanced course is designed for ammonia refrigeration system operators, refrigeration maintenance staff, refrigeration supervisors, and safety/PSM individuals who will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and safety services for an Industrial Refrigeration system and will provide a foundation for advanced refrigeration principles, electrical principles, safety, and components.  This interactive training will include a PowerPoint lecture on each topic covered along with individual chapter questions and group activities to aid in the operator’s understanding of the topics and promotion of team building skills.  During the training, practice exam questions will be given and reviewed similar to those found on the RETA CIRO examination.  At the conclusion of the course, an official RETA assessment exam will be given to verify each operator’s understanding and retention of the RETA CIRO material and any areas where additional study may be needed.  Those attending the RETA CIRO training should have a minimum of two years’ experience working with an industrial refrigeration system. Completion of the CARO / Operator I Training course is recommended so the student has a foundation for basic industrial refrigeration principles.  Details for enrolling and scheduling the RETA CIRO exam will be provided and discussed at the conclusion of the course as well as instructions for access to additional support if needed for the student’s individual preparation needs.
